I just fell in love with the Yamaha FM chips.
Built three modules that uses the YMF262, and now I have a new victim, the YMF704C (I have the S version).
S means it’s a square chip with 25 pins at all four sides.
This chip should be capable of playing FM ánd Wavetable sounds. It also has a midi input.
I would very much like to know how to use the midi input, what registers I have to fill with what to play GM midi.
The FM part is comparable, if not similar to that of the YMF262, so that should work for me, but I have no idea if the YMF704C uses midi for that too...
So, some help will be very much appreciated. And last but no least, I have no commercial intentions whatsoever!
