Repurposing ye olde organ voice IC

Not really a repair question or idea, more of an opinion poll.


I come by quite a few free older electronic organs/keyboards whilst searching for parts to salvage and have had a fair bit of success in procuring some pretty obscure ICs and components {a lot of rube goldberg type inventions, too}

I think a few of the good pieces i've found are voice IC from gulbransen, kawai and some iffy sears-roebuck and montgomery-ward models. the gulbransen ICs i got some of the features usable, but trying to find data on a nearly 100 year old ic is a process.

What I'd like to ask is if there are others who had success with resuscitation or frankensteins?
