I guess I have the 2nd edition as it has usb c and is not the most recent.

It is pretty solid so I would recommend this version.

Looking at your images the connectors at the PSU end seem to be soldered on, the other end have tabs that need pulling away to get the connector off.

The LCD controller will most likely be in the cpu and has access to these pins.

All I am wondering is if the driver/sample code you are using is to blame for the cpu hit rather than the actual cpu ...

I must admit I thought the LCD controller did all the heavy lifting and the only cpu hit was writing to the frame buffer in ram.

Is that where you are seeing the cpu hit or are you seeing a genera ...
