I had some issues with 3080s bought on eBay. 2 faulted and few hours of the testing circuit to find it. Will do the test circuit for sure before I will plug the IC next time.

Hmm... frequency shifters could be a consideration. Depends how the input sine wave would look after a shift = low or high distortion?

I haven't used them but it says it is a drop-in alternative to the common Alpha 9mm trimmers. And for those I do indeed use the EVUF.
