if you are using a digital delay that samples the audio and repeats the samples [unlike analog].... that could explain the phasing...........

from the graphs, the mics have a bump around 2-5k

that will usually sound pretty nasty

you might want a flatter mic and have more fun with pre amps

tube pre for 'colour/warmth'

i think aftertouch is very important for 'perfomance' action

when using MTC to lock two sequencers, it has the added advantage of following the BPM with frame accuracy

further, if you are syncing two sequencers to bars/beats, MTC will lock the Song Position ...
