Silly question maybe, but you are centring the pot when you apply an external CV? Just that if the pot were at -12V, and you apply a CV below 0, the opamp mixer isn't going to be happy trying to sum t ...

I'd disagree with the transistor tester being a gimmick. Not because I've ever needed to know Hfe, but I use it a lot to check the pinouts - 2N3904 and BC547 are different for example, but effectively ...

Weird. That suggests leakage somewhere.
I'd suggest replacing C1a and C1b - possible they may have been damaged by the excess current you previously had going through the BC557 (which would have bee ... |

Congratulations! So you now know there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the build. You've got an intermittent fault. My guess, from personal experience, is that it is most likely to be loose connect ...

Can you check the voltage at pin 11 of U9? In one mode it ought to be approximately V+, in the other, Ground. If that toggling isn't happening, that is the likely cause of your problem. Could be a sho ...

Just built a dual one of these, and used the two spare op amps to make a third XOR, which is hard-wired to the outputs of the first two. In other words, you have A1 XOR A2, B1 XOR B2, and A XOR B avai ...

Hi, and welcome!
Hard to tell from the pictures, but there is something wrong around the transistors. The emitters of T1 and T2 are pulled to V- through 3k9 and 82R, so ought to show something mo ... |

Very sad news indeed. Like so many others here, I too first got the synth bug from Ray's WSG and Soundlab. And without his detailed documentation I probably wouldn't have started.

I'd suspect U7 as well - its max input current is 10mA, and with U6 reversed, you might have exceeded that.
