Much easier to see your stuff here than that superhighway of a Max/MSP list over at Cycling74.
I have a simple question. Forester does not let me open any of my audio files. Not mp3s, not aifs, not anything. I have Max/MSP installed (I use it too). Do you think this might be a problem? _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

you don't actually import individual audio files, you put a bunch of aiff files in a folder and then load that folder into forester (clicking folder icon). It acts like a sound pool, as Leafcutter so deaftly put it. Its a great program

That's part of my point. It's not letting me open folders either. It looks like a neat program, I just can't seem to get any of my considerable library of aiff files (even folders of them) to open. Just wondering why. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

damn. My only guess is to try reinstalling it but i assume you probably did that already. Good luck, though. if you have a new mac with intel then maybe that would be a problem with forester but if that was the case i'm guessing you wouldn't even be able to install it period. If all else fails email leafcutter john if you have a myspace account, hes on there. _________________ Lets get it! |

yeah I've seen him on the Max/MSP list before. I'll send him a email. His runtime is much older than my current MAX/MSP install. It's a puzzle though. This is a dual 2.5GHz G5 Mac Pro. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Solved it. I have to select the directory twice. The first time throws an error in the message box, that it cannot find the directory. The second time, it selects the directory. This is repeatable. I am running 10.4.9 with a Max/MSP 2.6+ installed. I don't think the local Max/MSP version is aware of the Forester runtime.
I must say, this is every bit as good as I thought it would be. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
