Hi!

I recently baught a G2 key Smile

I am totally taken away by this device!!!

However, I would really like to get logic 8 to act as slave, and use the G2 to send the start/stop msg and bpm etc.

I can easily get the G2 to sync to logic, but it seems logic 8 gets tricky when wanting the G2 to act as master.

I read some posts on logic sites, which claim logic 8 does not support sync to external clock anymore (how silly is that?), however i read that if you use the MTC or Machine Control you can do it. But is there a way to do that with the G2? Did anyone manage to use the G2 acting as master clock to logic?

MTC is sysex based and MMC for a major part as well and the G2 can not make sysex messages unfortunately.

In another thread I read about logic 8 not being able indeed to listen to midi clock ... sounds like you're stuck except maybe for adding a bit of software in between (like Max or PD maybe .. and some virtual MIDI ports probably).
