Here's the finalized schematic. So what use is this thing to lunetta builders? Providing -a lot- of outputs to feed the control circuitry for multiplexers and what-not. None of the outputs are really all that interesting when using audio inputs, but hook up say an NE556 configured as two pulse generators and you have 14 unique pulse outputs.

Now - maybe it's my just not being awake enough - but the overall description from your last message of the functionality - has REALLY caught my interest in what you're doing - especially for my Quadatrix Director (the coming controller for my Quadatrix Sequencers)!

But ... with the severity of oddness in how I communicate normally - (which seems to confuse many people), I've comprehension conflicts in understanding your writing / explanations of things. (Damn, my brain! Frustrating. Sad )

To try and explain my desires in brief for my 'overall' sequencers:

I'm looking to build a 'brain', that can do things more complex than just using, essentially, 'a couple of YES / NO switches'.

The description at the beginning of your last message, is what has interested me in possibilities.

I'll try reading again later today, to see if being more awake, helps in my understanding. Smile

K - a quick read, JUST before leaving (very late) for work - I think I've awoken a bit further:

You're saying with the 4 possibilities of 2 inputs, you're looking at arriving at 14 possibilities (based on the definitions earlier that I can't reading-wise comprehend)?

And I have all of the CMOS required in stock ... This could be quite interesting in it's possibilities, as each of the Step's of my Director have 2 switches FOR outputting, 2 different bits.

HMMMM! Shall ponder this through the day. Very Happy

Ahhh, to have been enRiched before I've had my first cup of coffee. Truly this is a promising augury from an otherwise distant and uncaring god.
Don't get your hopes up too high, it's still really just a couple of yes and no switches. You may want to run a quick simulation before you commit to anything. But....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_connective
dig the shading when the truth table is drawn out into a square. There's 14 possible combinations there. It's a bit deceptive in terms of usable output though.
And....
You're not strictly limited to keeping everything static. That is, you can add in another inverter or two and another couple of sets of gates, run the ins and outs to a patchbay and start building arguments. With the addition of another pair of inputs the complexity in terms of possible states skyrockets.
