FANTASTIC!!! You have really excelled this time tjookum!!! Ha ha! This Lunetta thing is shifting gear now and moving along fast! What a great contribution you have made!
I clicked on the Link-o-rama and saw your avatar with 'General' as the first word in the text in bold, and for a moment I mistook it for your rank! You certainly deserve a promotion! 'General Tjookum'... hmmm... has a good ring to it!

Tjookum! Thank you greatly for the kind words about The Deathlehem Machine! My TDM 'baby' is just over a year old, but growing wonderfully quickly, considering his limited appeal area. In combination though with the Lunetta area here at EM - the pair are the greatest collective together for the Lunetta world.

How can one not be greatfull for someone putting so much time, effort and money into running a forum for a very select group of people and giving us a place on the web for our creativity. 
Is there any way to make the deathlehem forum accesable to the public? Like a read only option? There are lots of interesting topics on there wich deserve a link in the link-o-rama.
This is still very much a work in progress, please feel free to contribute. Im especially looking for more links to usefull schematics like oscilators, filters, amps, mixers, etc.

I wish that I could think of a way. Perhaps if I went through the manual for the Forum, I could find a way but where to find the specific area for it ...
I'll try glancing through the Administration area of commands / settings and see if there's anything relating to it, for allowing guests to READ ONLY. That could be, one way to go with it, without allowing spammers in. Shall see what I can find. |

General Tjookum! Whilst on a late night Lunetta Military Manoeuvre, I came across this website with some interesting CMOS stuff on it. Thought you may want to transfer it to the Link-o-rama. It has breadboard info there too. Have a look and see what you think....Transmitting coordinates now:

Also added a lot of new links, mostly schematics from older threads. There is some really cool stuff in there!

I found this ftp site hosting a large number of datasheets which spans most cmos chips and beyond. Some one should archive it and make it available to the community before it disappears!

I have issues with forums like this. They get old, but they never get updated. SOOOOO many dead links!!!
I mean... LOOK at all this cool stuff! But guess what, most of the links go to websites that died long ago. So, it's like being shown the Christmas tree with all of the packages underneath, but then discovering that the packages are nearly all empty.
Please tell me that somewhere, someone has done an update to all of this! I'll be very happy to know of such a thing! |

Hmm yeah .. it sucks .. but when people .. how can you .. i mean ... you can not blame the forum for that .. can you .. hmm .. you can
I do not know why people would post ephemeral links as if they would be forever; people should attach more .. post stuff here .. so it will only disappear when this site turns out to not be eternal ...
Or maybe this is just a problem with the internet - it is mainly useless - so let's use it for -- everything-- 
And yes, it sucks to me too.

Thanks Phobos. I'll have a look there. Last time I looked at that site, my face ended up on a missing person's poster!
I'm not kidding here. I recently downloaded a doc from Scribd, which has tons and tons of links to EM. All dead. I know what it's all about. Somebody had a great idea and started a website and it was brilliant. Then they got married, or died or kidnapped, or abducted by aliens, and the website got abandoned and eventually shut down. Life happened (or not). Even today, I was curious about a Thomas Henry design. Dead link, after dead link... I guess we all want something for nothing, so nothing is what we get.
It seems that some house keeping might be a step forward, so we don't keep opening empty boxes on Christmas! Maybe a dead link department can happen. It might seem counter to the purpose of the forum, but as we all have seen, nothing lasts forever. It might be necessary as I'm certain this forum occupies some space and can't keep going and growing indefinitely.
It's funny how the internet has been around for a long time, but we are still figuring stuff like this out. If anyone reads this who can get my ideas to the persons in charge, please do so. I'd help if I knew how. I suppose defining a problem is a step towards solving it, so I have at least done that. I really like this forum! I know there is a lot of good to it! |
