Finally! I created a READ ONLY guest account ... Subject description: on The Deathlehem Machine noise forum |
 |
|
For anyone to be able to login and read messages in most of the Forums, I have created the:
username: reader1
password: reader1
There y'all go! If anyone logs in under that user name and you would like to subscribe with your own username - just log in with the new username, registering it (which I automatically receive email for.) I will still though, be using tight security, due to the extreme amount of spam that came in last year, when I'd opened the Forum up, completely, to Guests. Biggest mistake I'd ever made, there.
I'm currently adding more Forums out of the only one available at this moment. |

I guess this means that two or more guests can log in at the same time from two different locations. You know how popular Deathlehem can be and all... literally thousands of users on at the same time! |

Heh. With our subject of interest, the record for 'users' on at the same time were set back in January of this year: 30.
Those were still the days when 'spam' was coming in, left right and centre.
---
I learned after, I finally figured out to make Forum's Read Only for 'Guests', that, there doesn't NEED to be a 'read only account'. Anyone that comes to the Forum can just start reading away, the sub-forums that have been 'allowed' for read-only, viewing.
So no worries there. I can't see us ever being flooded with real people ANYways, due to the very small amounts of people that have interest in it. |

Hi. I created an account over at Deathlehem on August 22 but my account was never activated... could you activate it for me please?
Mostly I just want to lurk, which now seems possible without an account, but I might have something to post at some point... who knows? |

I just checked under new user applications and there weren't any there. I remember that yesterday, I deleted three that I couldn't verify anywhere as non-spammers / as real people.
I also tried to login to my email address at my server - with 3 of my email accounts, but it looks like their email server is down. (I get automatically mailed applications there, as well.)
Could you reapply? I'm home from work today and can activate it as soon as I see it, now that I know you're real.
Sorry about that - I may NOT have checked for your name any place the other day, and deleted you along with others.
And no problem with lurkers. Out of 50 members currently, we only have about 10, who are very active. A few more sporadic and most of the rest are lurkers as well. (With somewhere under 5 who haven't returned since they were activated. They'll be due for deletion soon due to complete inactivity. Those who at least login ... are free from that. ) |
