Thanks for posting; it is now in my bookmarks for later listening. Interesting--a few weeks ago a news show featured someone doing the "Deep Note" with his voice. I only paid 1/2 attention, but I vaguely recall that the "score" had been released fairly recently and that's what inspired the a capella rendition featured on the news.

"The accompanying sound logo called “The Deep Note” has fascinated, terrified, and mystified audiences for over three decades. "

"Terrified?" Really????? Maybe by people who listen to/like a very limited range of music. I never imagined it as being terrifying, but now that I think about it, I suppose multiplexed glides that resolve themselves into a lush chord could be interpreted by some in a quasi-religious manner as being non-humanly derived from a fear-inspiring deity.

Seriously, the podcast looks interesting!

Steve

Yeah- quite interesting. Sound, as opposed to music.
One person is quoted as being terrified by that sound, but you can imagine people getting sick with nails on chalkboards too.
That never bothered me.
