NM1 Editor suddenly behaving strange in Win10

I had the editor (3.0.3.) running in Win10 for years without problem (but seldom using it). Now I want to play with my MM again, and since I have a hires monitor, I fumbled with the high DPI settings of this program in Windows. Since then I have strange problems:
- Parts of the GUI dissappearing and then coming back after loading a patch;
- When I start the app the menu bar is duplicated and floating somewhere halfway in the window;
- The homescreen icon is a white square

I thought to uninstall and install, but I dont know how to uninstall (I did not see it in the "Programs and features" folder in ControlPanel), so I just deleted the directory in "Program Files". Then I started a fresh copy of "Nord Modular Editor v3.03.exe" but that did not change, the problems persisted.

So my questions are:
- Is the editor an application that starts from the .exe and does not install anything in teh system? If so, why cant I start fresh after deleting the old one?
- If not so: how do I clean my system from residues of the old installed editor that apparently has gone a bit wrong?

Hope someone can help me. It look like something rather basic, maybe it is addressed at length in the forums, but I couldn't find it.

It has been a while I've used it .. from memory:

It can run as just an exe .. if i recall correctly .. but also .. it does store some stuff .. like windo positions and sizes in a file (as it could have unreachable windows .. which could be solved by deleting that file).

I deleted the pretech items which didnt change anything.
I saw some Nord modular entries in the registry that I didnt dare to remove .
Oh well, everything functions, apart from the sometimes strange GUI glitches.
Back to noodling!
