Here's a quick'n dirty patch in reply to this thread:

http://www.electro-music.com/forum/post-114571.html#114571

Controls:

INPUT, CHANNEL: Selects audio input channel.
4/4 BAR CAPTURE: This button enacts the capturing procedure. The circuit will then wait until the next "one" and capture exactly one 4/4 bar of audio. Caution: Don't use under 92 BPM! The delay lines aren't long enough.
OUTPUT: You guess...
SLICE/MUTE: A 16-step sequencer to access the individual 16th slices of audio. The slices are numbered 0-15. The buttons under the knobs are used to mute/unmute steps.
TUNE: Just for fun... tune the slices in semitones. Cool

I knocked up the core circuit here at home on the demo version and added the "forbidden modules" (those which aren't part of the demo version, like the "audio in") in the normal editor afterwards. I didn't test the thing yet at length. So I hope it works.

Here's a much more simplified version that does away with the whole capturing business. It's based on the fact that it isn't necessary to capture audio into a delay loop if the audio itself is a loop anyway. So, this one is designed for one-bar 4/4-loops, coming from an external input or interslot bus. It works in realtime, so to speak.

Make sure that your loop audio source and this reorder patch are in perfect MIDI clock sync, and you're ready to go.

Again: Don't use under 92BPM. The delay lines aren't long enough.

Another caution: The patch needs one bar to "stabilise" itself at the very first start, or whenever you change MIDI clock tempo. This is because it has to "measure" the amount of delay time used in order to "know" how to slice it up.

It's a little bit "clicky"unfortunately, but circumventing that with crossfading etc. would have tripled the complexity (and DSP usage) of the patch. As it is, it's quite simple and efficient.

Have fun.

Wicked...thanks Tim....

This is awesome....

I put together a version over the past few days that tries to allow you to play in a sequence of slices using C4-D*5 and they will play back to you in that order...

It kinda works...almost....ish

Simply hit record in slot two, and then each subsequent note you input will advance the sequencer one step until you hit 16, when it'll start playing back....

Its not very efficient, and I'm sure there are far easier ways of doing most of it, but if anyone wants to have a play and let me know what they think, then cool.

Thanks again Tim.

umm,

Tim.
