ouhh, thanks,

But Matthias, can you please leave the old one also on your site ?
I personally love the very fast building on your modules because of Printmounted Pots or Sockets.
For Euro/Frac use it allows a real fast building.

This is so great Fonik, thanks for another great layout!

Do you have any other projects in the works (so I can plan ahead)?

The only small problem I have with printing your layouts is that I can't cut and paste from a PDF (as far as I know). I have to print the whole page--which wastes alot of valuable press and peel real estate.

no need on wasting press'n'peel: just print it out on paper. fix a piece of p'n'p blue on the printout using scotch tape. put it into your printer again and print again!

Well, I wish I asked you about this sooner... I've been using whole sheets for each layout. I'm not always the brightest bulb in the box.

I built the original layout of this 292, and I have to say, it sounds great.

Very useful.

Glad to see you tied up the unused op-amp in this layout!

i am a bit confused as to how this circuit works or what it does. is it just a gate or is it more like a filter?

thanks

Either or a a little of both. There are sound examples at the Plan b website.

Looks great Fonik,
Just wondering, if anyone here is willing to etch me a board as well I'll pay for the work and shipping.
Press'n'peel is unavailable in Israel and I don't have any other components for the etching process, Stripboard is my thing Wink

NOW you tell me Shocked
(Actually, I went by the values on the schematic).

I didn't do the resonance modification. Has anyone tried it yet?

I just started to build 2 of these, but with the old documentation Smile

Just need the vactrol and the usual wires to pots and stuff like that. Hope to be done within a week or so!

I can't get it directly from a vendor in my country either, but smallbear.com has it in single sheets, and I actually splashed some cash and bought a pack of 20 sheets direct from the manufacturer techniks.com

The rest of the gear for etching is easy too: I use ferric chloride (should be available from where ever you go to buy household chemicals), some tupperware for the etching bath, rubber gloves, etc. Only thing that might cost a bit is a Dremel or similar (I have a Proxxon) drill with a stand. I suppose you can use a normal electric drill, but the stand for it is mandatory, because those tiny 0,8mm drills break easily.

Edit: Just found this!

some people get very good results with paper from weekly magazines or catalogues. google for it (don't have the link on hand right now).

For me, press n' peel works the best; But I've successfully used glossy inkjet printer paper in the past. I've also read where people describe glossy magazine paper (just ripped from a magazine) as working best of all.

If I'll walk to a store in Israel and ask for chemicals I'll get arrested Wink
No actually I really don't have any more space in my apartment for anything, even the dog is afraid to sit on the floor cause all the stuff laying there.

Just finished my dual LPG!

I think something is wrong with the gate part though. Does anyone who built it got a sound sample of it?

I just wanna verify that it sounds like it should! Smile

helo zthee,

my apologies for this late reply. hope you have some fun with your LPGs anyways.

here is a short sample of the LPG.
square wave into LPG, offset fully clockwise, pulse from CGS utility LFO into LPG.
8 pulses in each mode: 1st filter mode, 2nd gate mode, 3rd both.

I built one of these last night on a piece of perf board using a bunch of parts I had in my junk box.

I added a 100k attenuator on the trigger input. It's handy in filter mode.

I left out C5 and R5. I can't quite work out what they are for. Anyone tell what they are meant to do?

For D1, I didn't have a 3.5v zener so I used a 5v. I'm guessing the zener here is to stop the LED's from getting blown by too much voltage. Any the zener is for?

I didn't have a 20k trimmer so I left out R7 and used a 50k trimmer.
I made my own vactors using two LEDs and two LDRs. The LDRs were two different sorts Shocked . Only problem is getting the LED/LDR combo light tight..at the moment it works ok if I put it under a t-shirt Embarassed I think I'll do something with heat shrink and lots of electrical tape.

It sounds really great, much like the samples from fonic above. I was kind of surprised given the hokey nature of my "vactrols" and my liberal interpretation of the schematic.
