Hi Guys,

My niece who is nearly 10 years old and 150cm tall wants to learn electric guitar.

I was thinking maybe a 3/4 size one would be ok, what do you think?

Also any recommendations?

Thanks fro any help

Andy

There are a lot of short scale electric guitars out there.
I even have a 1/2 scale strat I used to travel with.
There cheap and good now.

Check this out.
May be PERFECT!

Those daisy guitars look spot on, very hard to find in the UK though!

Andy, I'm really in two minds about this; one one hand, if she's already 150 cm at 10, she'll probs be quite big enough to be able to play a normal sized one in the future, but on the other hand, sh's just about small enough that she might be more comfortable with a short scale guitar.

Squier do some decent ones, like the "Hello Kitty" and the Mini/Mini Players, the Duo-Sonic and others. The Hello Kitty even comes in Pink!

Also, Wahburn have a Hanna Montana model, with suitable colour schemes.

I haven't checked, but I'm sure that Yamaha's Pacifica series includes a 3/4 scale model as well, and the cheap Pacificas are good enough that I wouldn't worry too much about playing a pro gig with one if all my proper guitars were unavailable.

Thanks, I will have a look into these in detail.

I am tickled by the Washburn Hanna Montana, one of my old friends had a Washburn that he picked up really cheap in a pawn shop, it was one of the nicest guitars to play that I have ever played., that coupled with Hanna Montana strikes a chord with me.

It was blue though and Ii'm not sure Hanna Montana would approve of that!

Also there is a disney version

She would love that.

I will look some more tomorrow.

Cheers
