WELCOME TO THE FIELD RECORDING FORUM Subject description: Drop By and Say HI! |
|
|
WELCOME TO THE ELECTRO-MUSIC FIELD RECORDING FORUM!!!
This forum is for sharing field recordings, samples, and found sounds for commercial or non-commercial use compiled by members of the site to freely share with the experimental music community.
electro-music.com is an incredible aggregate of musicians from around the world. In our various environments on this planet, we each have access to an immense amount of unique and varied sounds not heard in other places in the world. Thus, it is only sensible to pool our efforts together and compile some of these sounds here into a free library for all to use.
Recordings will vary from rural to urban environments, as well as "musical" or "non-musical" sounds. These recordings are FREE to all members to use as they see fit... with no strings attached. The intention of this forum is to create a good quality database of varied recordings from around the world that can be used on a professional or enthusiast level for creating original music, soundscapes, or film scores.
Crediting the composer of the recording is highly encouraged, but realistically not going to be enforced. Take the extra minute if you are going to publish a commercial or non-commercial work for distribution and credit the authors out of respect. Everyone that contributes to the database is a member of electro. It just takes 30 seconds to send a PM on the site.
WHEN POSTING TO THE FORUM:
START A NEW TOPIC IN THE FIELD RECORDING FORUM. ADD THE RECORDING FILE AS AN ATTACHMENT IN A POST TO A TOPIC Be sure to NAME the recording appropriately before uploading. You CANNOT edit the file name once posted to the site.
Multiple posts of similar field recordings can be filed under one forum post. For example, three separate recordings of forest sounds could be filed under one post titled, "Forest Sounds".
Consider a SHORT DETAILED DESCRIPTION IN THE ATTACHMENT AND THE POST TO THE SITE of your recording, including location, time and date, description of sound, and/or any technical notes, such as recording device/mic specs, file conversions, etc.
ONLY ORIGINAL RECORDINGS . NO re-posting of samples, field recordings, or found sounds from other websites allowed! Re-posts will be deleted.
RECORDINGS MUST BE 128k MP3 AS A MINIMUM QUALITY STANDARD. .wav, Ogg Vorbis, and FLAK formats also accepted.
DO NOT POST ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT TO FREELY GIVE AWAY! Once posted on the forum, your recording is literally around the world.
To get an overview of all field recordings posted in this forum use :

EXPERIMENT and HAVE FUN!!!

FYI there is a whole new forum for field recordings and not just this single thread, meaning it's is not necessary to post all followup here. Please start a new topic when you ... have a new topic ... like a new unrelated recording or some gear news. _________________ Jan

Ok, I'm locking this thread
edit: and unlocking it again, I moved your posts Gary, not too far away though. Sorry for locking it a bit, but was busy elsewhere and didn't want the mess to get any bigger
Anyway, it's good to see people like to post in this section _________________ Jan

I copied and pasted Blue Hell's last post into the first post of this topic. I think it belongs up there. _________________ --Howard

I use the Zoom H2. Not expensive and it works very well.
