I've just ordered an EEPROM Chip from a distributor to update my Nordlead (1) OS from a 1.6 to a 2.7.

Can anyone let me know how much they bought their's for??
Ive paid 60 dollars for mine but I feel like the distributor juiced me way too much.

thanks,

welcome swuh87

It's a well known fact Nord's pricing isn't in the lowest regions...
Anyway it's more different when Europe - USA trade lines are involved.
It's about € 41.-
A reasonable price, I think...

Contact Clavia about this, because once in a while they make a re-run.

Hello everybody,

is the Nord Lead OS 2.7 Upgrade EPROM still available? My "new old" 2nd-hand NL only has Version 1.6 and I'd like to upgrade it, what would you recommend me to do?

Thanks a lot in advance for your answers Smile

I would contact Clavia first.
(They are on holiday now...)
After that I would search the internet for it.

Thank you a lot for the information Wout Smile

Do you know how long they're on vacation?

I've always wanted to tell you one thing, maybe a little off-topic:

I'm a faithful reader of your writings about Clavia synths for several years now, though I've never asked something in this great forum before myself. You and the other guys around here helped me a lot in terms of understanding and operating my synths. There's always a nice and valuable answer to all of the inquirer's questions. Good to have you Smile

Lets bumb this thread. Very Happy

I'm also looking for os2.7 , only a BIN or HEX file would be fine.

I just mailed Clavia for this, you never know... Smile

Thank you!

Ough!

Be carefull, I was sleeping.
You are searching for a relic from the past.
You are talking about the NordLead2, I think?
Probably Clavia know where they have put it away.
Try to get hold of Bjorn or Michael, the last, if he is still at Clavia, backwards engineerd the Lead 2 as an inside Clavia project. Just remember Clavia is like Greta Garbo (another Swedish person): Leave us alone...! But the are very social guys, and they love humor!

Nope, NordRack1 with OS2.3

This would be my first contact to Clavia, so wish me luck.

It would be nice to see the os to the rest of the eprom here below;

I hope the latest os will eliminate the accoustic vibrating PSU case noise..... clown

Cool

What are the differences between the two?

Besides more voices and the ability to use a PCMCIA card is the Percussion mode, I believe.

I don't know the difference between OS2.3 and 2.7. Probably only some minor bugfixes. I did have read somewhere in the past the update is recommended for use with voice/pcmcia expansion board, which I sadly don't have. :\

It just makes me happy to have my firmware to be as up to date as possible.
Very Happy
