There's a preset patch that comes on the Micro called 'Oxygen', number 79. It's a patch that uses 3 OscBs and on three of these Oscillators the wavform selectors are lit up in this cool day-glo green color. All of them at once. So far I can't find any other patch that has these buttons all lit up like that and can't figure out how they got them that way. They look cool plus I'm intrigued as to how they got programmed this way. Anybody know?

Hello Gothboy

The buttons have been assigned to the green morph group.

If you move the green morph knob in the top of the editor window, all of the switches will change at the same time.

It is well worth the time to understand the morph concept as it allows you to change lots of things with only 1 knob.

Regards

I understand the morph concepts and use it on my Nord Lead 2 all the time! I'll be using morphing capabilities on the Micro more and more. I was wondering if you can assign the 4th button to toggle those green switches on or off.

Unfortunately I have no idea on how to use the button to toggle things on the micro (firmware 3.0).

I just tried to read the manual and it didn't help all that much.

However, to assign a morph group to a row (or just a range of a row) of buttons, just press CTRL (on PS anyway) and click on the 'low' button and then, without letting go of CTRL, click on the 'high' button.

Say you want to switch between triangle and sine, CTRL+click on triangle and click on sine. Right click on row to select another morph group if you wish. Assign a knob to the morph group. Now the osc will have triangle wave when knob is counter clockwise and sine when knob is turned clockwise.

I hope that made sense....

Makes sense......well I haven't tried any of it yet but I'll check it out today and see, thanks! Firmware 3.0 you say. Well, my Micro is running software version 3.0 so I don't know if software is hand in hand with firmware......but I know it's the latest version according to Clavia.
It's good to know there are other micro users out there willing to help others..Oh, and by the way I sent an email to Gareth Jones, the famed producer and sound designer who's worked with Depeche Mode and Erasure, about the Micro( he has one and used it on DMs' Exiter album).....just as a lark. He actually responded! He recommended a wizoo guide by Len Sasso. Something to check out at amazon and can be had for about $20.00, BTW.

Gothboy -

Did you know the Nord Modular email list is archived & hosted here? It's still active to this day.

http://mail.electro-music.com/mailman/listinfo/nord-modular

There are several YEARS of emails, hints, tips, and patches in there. Be sure to look through each section (FAQs, Interesting Threads, etc.). Lot's of info! (I used to have a Nord Modular before getting a G2).

Hey Falk. I had success assigning the Osc selector buttons to the Morph group. For this one particular patch I'm using 2 OSCs and after assigning both groups of selector buttons to the second green morph knob they lit up green....although not in the same way as the other patch that had both rows lit up in dark green. This one displays one with a light green and one with a darker green color that change when you click on the buttons. But here's the funny thing....the only way I can externally control selection of the waveform is by assigning the button row to a knob directly. Can't do it with a morph group for some reason.??

Hello Gothboy.

If you click on another modules button (on another osc for example) you will see the dark green colour. It seems the interface marks the latest button (or row of button) pressed with a lighter colour.

Took me some experimenting to figure that one out Embarassed

Re: Morph group controlling waveform. It might be that you only try to morph from one waveform to the same waveform. When you place the mouse over the waveform selector it should show the morph range (i.e. 2 values). If it doesn't, use CTRL-left click as I described in my previous post to give it a range.

Regards
Falk
