Download schematic for analog brain synth, help homeless |
|
|
Experimental synth and effects designer Peter Blasser is trying to raise money to support his friends, whose home was damaged by a fire. Thus, he's offering a downloadable manual for building his Lil' Siddrassi synth, in exchange for a donation towards helping out his friends. You supply all the parts yourself. The wildcard in the design will be the capacitors you pick.
If you're willing to donate $100, he'll send you a kit with case and components.

Not a bad deal, right? You get a new noisemaker that probably has the "analog brain" of Peter's other creations, for next to nothing, and in exchange help out some homeless people.
The Analog Brain is described on this page:

I am quite sure to be an old fart on the conservative side but I wondered anyway about the .mp3 sample. it should be inviting, I guess maybe I'm missing something but the idea of helping friends in need is really commendable
my wife listening to the abovementioned sample commented: "those guys are gonna remain homeless for awhile even though I appreciate the humanitarian effort" _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Got confirmation that the "homeless friends" are Baltimore noise musicians Twigg and Carla. I only met them a few times, but they're very nice people. Shame about their house.
As for the sound quality, that depends on what components you choose to incorporate into Pete's design. He's encouraging DIY'ers to try different capacitor values, for example. |
