so i'm about to put out a little album, and i thought i'd share the info with the nord community as this album will approx. 98% live nord. i have an oxygen 8 hooked up to it and run at most 3 patches at once. the oxy8 controls slot A, slot C is usually something generated, background noise, ambience or something, and D is the beat. it's all going through an edirol ua700 audio interface, which has two mic inputs, a guitar input that has delay and some other effects and an RCA. most stuff goes through outputs 1 & 2 to the the mic inputs, and i assign a knob to the output (1/2 3/4 CVA) so i can switch it through to the guitar input (nord output 3) and get some nice dubby delay. i recently started using output 4 to run through the nord input to further destroy sounds.

the album is ambient, delicate and melodic, sometimes deep and dubby and of course i gotta contrast it with glitchy elements.

but anyway, enough talkin' let's get to the music. you can hear samples here:
http://teamabunai.org/oao/

all the samples will be in the grey box, "made to order". the songs in the "downloads" box do have nord, but they aren't all nord nor are they live.

anyway... enjoy!

Everything from the artwork to the music itself will be unique to each copy pressed.

Exclamation The concept is appealing, the teasers sound well.

Wow, I really like the music! too bad I don't own a credit card or I'd buy a copy Sad The "every CD is unique" idea is pretty cool, I've never seen that done before.

So do you record this in real-time?? Are all the sounds in the demos being generated at the same time? (nothing prerecorded and "bumped to wave file"?)

I have to get myself one of them Nodulars Smile

all the sounds in the demos are indeed recorded in real time. the only post editing i do is maybe some fade in/out and a little level adjustment, EQ. but, yeah, everything is live out of the Nord through a edirol UA-700 so i can get some delay and reverb (dub dub dub...)

this has definitely been a fun yet time consuming project. mostly fun though. i get a lot more of out it knowing that i'm recording this particular set for an individual. only downside is hitting the wrong note five minutes into a song: time to start over...

btw... if you really want a copy but don't have a credit card or paypal dealie, PM me and we might could work somethin' out...
