Subject description: tool for patchnames

I recently get my hands on the NM .midnam generator http://dropmix.xs4all.nl/rick/Emusic/Nord/midnam/ a very useful tool for having all your patchnames directly in your seqencer (protools&DP), so I'd like to know if there is an equivalent for the G2?
I've also try BobTheDog's G2scriptgen http://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-7883.html , it works very well, but the Cubase patchnames.txt is not compatible with protools .midnam or .xml...
So if anyone knows about G2 .midnam generator? LET US KNOW Wink

Thanks for reading Smile

Here is a blank xml midnam file that can be filled by hand (I know it can be boring if you have 3000 patchs Shocked ).

If you have error like Devicemode or channelnameset just check that midi channel set assign match with your midi device setup in your sequencer (protools, DP..) in this section :
- <ChannelNameSetAssignments>
<ChannelNameSetAssign Channel="1" NameSet="Name Set 1" />
<ChannelNameSetAssign Channel="2" NameSet="Name Set 1" />
<ChannelNameSetAssign Channel="3" NameSet="Name Set 1" />
<ChannelNameSetAssign Channel="4" NameSet="Name Set 1" />
</ChannelNameSetAssignments>
</CustomDeviceMode>
- <ChannelNameSet Name="Name Set 1">
- <AvailableForChannels>
<AvailableChannel Available="true" Channel="1" />
<AvailableChannel Available="true" Channel="2" />
<AvailableChannel Available="true" Channel="3" />
<AvailableChannel Available="true" Channel="4" />
</AvailableForChannels>
Like this if you have Midi Channel 1,2,3&4 on your G2

BTW you must put the patchnames here : <Patch Name="RedDrum_DZ" Number="0" ProgramChange="0" />[/b]

Hi,

I am away from home for a couple of weeks, when I get back I will update the utility to output files in this format.

Cheers

That would be great Very Happy

I've just finish to complete the xml file(BTW it's just a tweaked file from the NM .midnam generator), I almost cut and paste about 1200 patchnames that I use in my engine, but now I am so happy to have the presets names right away in my protools, it's great fun.
But if I change some preset in my engine I will have to edit the xml file each time, so...

Thanks for ur interest and nice job Cool
