i'm creating a patch to put my 'cello through for a performance i'm doing October 28th.

the pitch shifter struggles with being put down an octave. it's quite annoying... there's a tangible delay that irritates me when i play.

You may already know this, but the Pitch Shifter module has a button to select the amount of delay and the default setting is 50 milliseconds (you'll definitely hear this much delay). Longer delays will typically give better sounding results, especially with input signals that have a lower pitch, but you may be able to set it to a shorter delay without sacrificing audio quality too much. You can set it as short as 12.5msec.

This isn't really a shortcoming of the G2, all pitch shifters have this issue.

yeah... it sucks. i'm going to have it set to 12.5 and just use an lpf to disguise the lack of fidelity. i'm not bothered about the sound quality, i just want some kind of sub-presence to my playing.

i automatically go into "classical" mode with a 'cello between my legs, and bemoan the tiniest lack of response an instrument gives me.

i still reckon 12.5 milliseconds is too long.
