Explain what you're looking for... |
 |
|
Hello
Well. I'm just desperate.
I'm looking for a soft that, well... It must...
Not easy to explain.
I have VSTis, greats ones. I hate when Cubase plays them. I have to do that, not Cubase. I want to play them.
So I've tried some VST hosts. Many of them are free or shareware. And, as I'm desperate, I allow me to say that they're not serious. Many bugs everywhere, crashes, not very convenient for live perf.
I'm looking for a serious stuff.
Stable.
Modular.
No cracks.
Good sound.
Well, you see what I mean.
Have you ideas?
Thanks! |

Considering Emagic are now part of a company who now both own them, and write their own operating system for it, isn't it 'logical' ( ) that you buy a Mac? _________________ ACHTUNG!

Chainer is crucial, period. I personally cannot live without it.
I don't use my Eventide anymore. It extends the functionality of any VST capable app beyond calculation.
I just can't figure out why the major sequencer/DAW developer haven't even thought of implementing these functions in their apps what Chainer did years ago in a 300kb dll file.
Are their heads really that far up their asses?
Note to Apple, Steinberg, Ableton, etc.
Please stop trying to make realistic looking woodgrain sides for your crappy sounding virtual synth and take a look at Chainer, EnergyXT, etc.
End of rant.
Yeh, I like Chainer. Unfortunately Xlutop stopped developing it since 2003.

Well, you see what I mean. | I Guess I do.
Convenient for live perf: Usine (big soft), Bidule (small one), Reaktor (no hosting)
Stable: Reaktor, Usine... just perfect.
Modular: Well... Reaktor, Usine...
No cracks: what do you mean? No clicks? Is your computer powerful enough?
Good sound: ASIO
My opinion: for stage, download Usine. Not an easy soft, but born on stage for stage. |

Have you tried AudioMulch? http://audiomulch.com/info.htm
It's modular, so if you want to sequence or play, it can do it (though sequencing is more like analog tracks, not your typical MIDI Piano roll-bar). I like to think of it as the poor-man's Kyma, given the right VST's to accent the already large palette of "contraptions" that audiomulch has. It's stable, has a few nice features for performances (the metasurface for one), and is pretty damn rock solid. Not the prettiest interface (looks like win95), but works well. |

Thanks jksuperstar.
Yes, I've tried AudioMulch a few months ago. The metasurface is funny.
But i want to be able to wire my VST a diferent way and hope something easy to quantize with patches.
I'll try Usine because I've never herd about it and never tried.
I'm not looking for a poorman's Kyma but a reliable flexible powerfull soft.
Something strong. I hope it exists. |

Hi.
Well, did ya download Usine? Did you have a look at it? Or just at Sensomusic homepage?
How could I use a soft not developed anymore and pretend I'm looking for serious stuff? Or buy a Mac just because I'm looking for a specific soft?
Rahhh! what are you all telling to me, my friends?
OK. I'll be out for a while since I'm testing Usine. Because I think that's it.
Ooops sorry, there it is: Usine home page.
cheers |
