I have a problem that needs a solution

I bought an M-Audio Axiom 25. I have sound editing experience in programs like Sony Acid, but no MIDI experience. My keyboard came with a lite version of Ableton Live. My approach to learning this peice of equipment has been to read the manuals of each (Ableton and the Axiom controller) concurrently. I know how to set everything to the setings I want, mainly the pressure sensitivity of the sample pads, but can NOT get them to be recognized by Ableton even after doing an info dump. I have set the parameters manually on the keyboard and used Enigma to set my pads to what I want and have still not yet seen signs of the information set on the pads being used in Ableton.

If anyone could give me suggestions on some simpler softare that I can interface my controller with, like Fruity Loops (full), or any other information on what I could do, that would be awesome.

Thanks

Are you recording a track, or trying to use the Axiom as a controller for ableton for things like play, stop, rec, etc?

For tracks, make sure the track is armed, and the input MIDI channel matches the Axiom's channel(s). Also, in settings, make sure you enable the MIDI device as an input.

For control, in preferences, make sure the "remote" is set to your device, and also make sure the MIDI is enabled appropriately in the settings.

Do you leave Enigma running? Try shutting it down before Ablteon uses the device. That may help.
