How to shrink a Quickie |
 |
|
I've got a 40MB Quicktime video which I'd like to compress in some way so I could post it here. Does anyone know how to do this? _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Super (for PC) seems to give me good results lately, it's a bit like your current avatar though I wasn't going to say anything about that
http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html at the very bottom has the download links, I never tried mov files with it myself, but it seems to be able to handle 'm. Don't know if it's a quickie though, all the video tools around seem to assume you know something about it.
The website sucks, but there are help files on it, somewhere, there should be, I once saw them. _________________ Jan

Still iPod friendly video in mp4 using h264 should do just fine. There are several freeware apps out there that will use the ffmpeg and other bundles.
You can often use presets but you might also adjust framerate and quality yourself.
I use visualhub myself and it even uses xgrid so I can dump transcoding tasks to other computers on my home lan. We like that! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I tried Super, but even though it successfully reduced the framerate to 10 I can't get it to encode the audio. There's no audio on any settings I do. Whether I go to mp4 or keep it as a mov.
I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about Stein. I don't know digital video at all. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Could it be that the audio is AAC ? That could be troublesome. Try to upload the movie to the editor's ftp area maybe so someone else can have a look. Did you have a look at the presets of Super ? There might be something useful. _________________ Jan

If you would just like to upload it, why not simply upload it youtube? They'll compress it for you, turn it into flash that you can embed and host it as well. _________________ Kassen |

It's something I really only wanted to share with the editor's forum, or maybe EM, but not the whole world. (My 15 month old girl Hannah, getting radical with a toy keyboard which is accidently bent, and screaming it's last gasps, playing with her feet, throwing it around etc. It's an absolute circuit bending, performance art classic.) _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

It's really for you guys anyway, so how do I upload to the editor's ftp area? _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. Last edited by Uncle Krunkus on Mon Jul 09, 2007 6:25 am; edited 1 time in total |
