Hi folks, I would like to know how to reset the tempo/speed/pitch whatever of the desktop evolver to factory default. Something like set bpm to "xxx" and measure to "half note" etc. My evolver often drop down in tempo and I can't make it sound like factory default again. If I speed up tempo, something still sounds weird and not like the orginal patches. I guess I have to match 2-3 paramaters with the factory default value to get the original patches sound the same

I got this evolver 6 months ago, and I am far from impressed. I don't like the weak filters, oscillator beatings and clicks, hard clipping, very cheap effects, buggy sysex dump, horrible presets (ok I could care less for this one) and so on. It seems I am the only one to feel that way isn't it?

I have a poly evolver keyboard. I quite like it. I don't have problems with tuning, sounds or whatever.

If you sell yours, you will probably get someone to buy it, they are rather popular now.

Could it be that you are sending control changes to it that are not resetting?

No I am not sending control changes, midi in unplugged, just trying to get tempo speed ok. When playiong sequences I either get a slow tempo or fast tempo with pitchshifted down. Both sounds weird.

I could have spend more time with it and experiment to get sounds I like. That is, it's very good value for money, so I am not planning to sell soon. I just feel the sound is more likely to appeal to a guitarist because there is much more features to trash sound quality rather than to improve it.

Hard to say without seeing it first-hand but you mention tempo and pitch being a problem. My guess is that it may just be pitch because if you set the tempo to 120 then it should be 120. So, assuming it's really a pitch issue, you should follow the instructions in the manual to re-calibrate the pitch/mod wheels. I've found that sometimes the pitch wheel's 0 (zero) can get a little off kilter. Re-calibrating it and "flicking it" to make sure it stays centered might be just the ticket. Also, make sure your master tuning is set to 0.

Good luck.

EDIT: Just realized how old this thread is Smile
