Nord Lead 2 bugs!!! also source for replacement pots? |
 |
|
Just bought a Nord Lead 2 and I am loving it's sound but it has frozen about 15 times so far!
The most repeatable freezing is this:
shift+demo starts the demo tracks begins playing drums and then a synt pad starts then it freezes with "Pr" on the display. Does not repsond to any buttons at that point, I have to restart the synth. If I start demo mode and then quickly press progam up/down then it will go into one of the other demo songs and actually play them.
The other freeze just seems to happen randomly when I hold odwn a chord for a few seconds (inconsistently). The notes get stuck and then none of the front panel controls work so I have to restart it.
Any ideas what could be wrong??? it is firmware v. 1.06
Second problem: The shaft for the LFO1 amount knob is bent. It still works but it bugs me that it is damaged so I would like to replace it. Anyone happen to know where I can get identical pots from? I haven't opeend it up yet but I am hoping it is some sort of standard alps pot that I can just order a replacement from mouser/digikey.
Any help is appreciated! |

1 there is a cable inside not connected right. Open the red hood by unscrewing the four screws at the back, the one of the same size at the bottom and at both sides only the ones at the front (just unscrew the two with the washers a little: they keep the hood in place so the cables are safe) Check all connectors.
2 the synth might receive a lot of Midi information at that moment and
3 in your studio some other machine suddenly uses a lot of power to which the power supply of the Lead is very sensitive...
BTW, I didn't knew one can scroll through the Demo Songs, although it isn't information you'll daily need
