Anyone know of a site that has interviews or such about the production of early electronic/synthpop stuff?
Just want to read and see how it was done back in the day, realize how lucky I am to have all these lovely gadgets!
Thanks,
b

Well. I found these.

Soft Cell

Depeche Mode

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec98/articles/daniel.624.htm

Any others? These are good reads but would like to see something a bit more technical.

There is a Warren Cann interview out there which is pretty good.

that classic tracks sound on sound article is a must read. fucking excellent tips on recording and working with electronic instruments and samples (read: re-amplification!)

i'm a big fan of minimal electronic music from that era. i don't know if i have too many tech related articles, but a year or so ago there was a brilliant mojo special edition magazine regarding the history of electro pop which pretty much covered ... everyone. it had depeche mode on the cover. if you can find it, it's a great read. i'm not a big collector but my copy is still in plastic after the initial read Smile
