Classic nord lead and logic 7 environment |
 |
|
Hi,
First i would like to say hi to everyone and hope is all well.
I have a classic nord lead for some time but since the new era of soft synths started i have not been using it for ages, but now i want to start using it again.
At the moment everything is plugged in correctly and i downloaded a Nord Modular environment for Logic 7.
I must say they did an amazing job, cos even for my Nord most of the basic features work no problem.
But i am having a issue wen i start changing the knobs and changing the sound.
A soon as i move to a difeent channel on Logic and return to Nord midi channel the sound goes back to his original preset.
None of the knob movements were saved.
I am not sure what i am doing wrong or what i am not doing.
First i think is to do with the Nord modular environment that is not recognizing the midi knobs of my Nord.
If any one as a logic 7 environment working great for Nord lead i would be much grateful.
Or any help in fixing this problem is also greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance. |

I assume you are writing about the NordModular Classic and not about the NordLead, NordLead2(X) or NordLead3.
About the NordModular, did you assign any controllers to the Knobs? If not, Logic can't record them. [Manual Page 36]
Wout
PS If you're writing about the NM, I'll ask to transport this Thread to its forum. |

Hey,
I am actually writing about the Nord Lead.
I downloaded a Nord Modular a logic 7 environment in hope it would work with my Nord Lead.
Witch it did in most aspects, apart from saving my knob adjustments.
But i must admit that the Nord Modular environment that i found was very comprehensive and in the hands of people that could understand whats going on its a must.
I can for sure share it and maybe some one can help.
Sorry if i am not making my self clear very well. |

First I have to tell I never worked with Logic and I never make use of special environments designed to be used in software sequencers.
Have you read [Manual (NordLead2) Page 72, the part named 'Controllers']?
I wonder how the Logic 7 environment deals with the Nord Modular concerning the 'free to assign' option of the knobs...

I must admit that i am well confused...
First i am not using a Nord Lead 2, I am using a Nord Lead, the first Nord.
But any way.... thanks for the input. |

There isn't much differences between the two: Voices, CardReader, RingModulator and Distortion is about all.

But if you never used logic you cant possible understand what i am asking.
I am looking for Logic users that have Nord lead to give me a hand if possible.
No hard feelings of course.

Anyway, what I know about Logic and the Nord Modular there were some issues about the two Midi ports. Beware the knob information has nothing to do with the Editor, but it's SysEx data. Is this the same as the NordLead1?
Wout
who only wants to give you some directions to solve the problem. I don't have the solution in my pocket!
Maybe http://logic-users.org/ is a better place to ask? |

Hello, I think what you need to do is create a multi instrument within your enviroment that has dedicated channel(s) linked to the one(s) your running on the Nord lead...
As Wout has suggested, you will get an in depth response for logic specifics on L.U.G _________________ It is at least ten times more difficult to get a good synthesizer sound than on an acoustic instrument. - Giorgio Moroder |
