(Newbie)Can't use NM without editor? |
 |
|
Hi I'm a newly user of classic nord modular rack.
It works fine when I operate the editor, but when I try to use NM without the editor, I don't know how to load a patch. It just says 'Error' on the screen, so I don't know how to use it without the editor.
Anybody please help me with this... |

Can you verify, using the patch browser in the editor, that there are actually patches loaded into the machine? _________________ www.gregwaltzer.com |

Yes, there aren't any problem when using the editor, I can load a patch for each slot and it works fine. However, as soon as I quit the editor, It suddenly views 'Error' on the screen, meaning that it cannot load any patch for that slot. |

Sounds like ti could be a feedback loop in your editor MIDI cables.
Try unplugging the PC-in&out cables, I suspect that'll help. _________________ Kassen |

When using the Editor you can load Patches from the hard disk of the computer and from the internal memory of the synth. Using the synth stand-alone only the internal memory can be used. Twist the rotory dial and when the right Patch is found press 'load Patch'.

Thanks everyone.
I think kassen was right.
It works properly when I unplug PC in/out cables.
but, still not good enough; because, it seems like i should plug/unplug cables whenever i use NM for a different purpose. |

Apparently your MIDI interface goes into thru mode when it is not used by a program, maybe this is a driver setting or something that could be changed?
What MIDI interface are you using? maybe someone knows ... _________________ Jan

Thanks for your concern!
I use "Steinberg MIDEX3" for midi-interface. |

The manual says that Midi in/out 1 has an auto thru function indeed, and there seems to be no way to turn it off. However you might be able to use out 2 or out 3 instead of out 1, that would solve the problem I think. _________________ Jan

Yeah. Sounds good (your idea, not Steinberg's).
cuinjune; this isn't a problem with the Micro as such. I do suppose Clavia could've auto-detected this state and reported it in a more meaningful way but... _________________ Kassen |
