Oenyaw was joking but I thought he wrote a nice order of the process. So I wasn't joking but serious about 'Music is heard'.

Being offensed in some weird way is not relevant to me here, this is a scientific discussion.

Oh, so that's why I got in here.

I've got to get back to that quantum superposition model that unifies composition and improvisation. I think superposition of states in a probability space has got this geometric crap beat hands down. But, no time to develop the theory. And, the grant money for release time is, well, likely nonexistent.

Maybe next summer!

As far as reading versus playing, one stimulates the other, it's a 2-stroke engine. I was studying diminished harmonies a couple days after W. was reelected, and the exercises spun out "Opposing Force" in one go. The first time Mosc heard it, he said, "Now there's something you can play when you're in a bad mood!" And to think another former Bell Labs musician acquaintance once told me that, for him, Mosc's music tended toward the disonnant side.

It's getting late here.

I got very interested in geometry after seeing some fractal and chaos images while I was in secondary school.
For me, I feel music is involved in those,
and that makes music kinda wonderful, like the shapes in nature.

The calmness, the excitement, the surprises, and changes of nature.
