Subject description: sound making question / fade out question

I want a sound that attacks, repeats and decays.

Basically I am trying to exactly recreate a sound in the ELO song "All Over the World" which I have uploaded here for your convenience:

http://www.zshare.net/audio/123053059ef2720c/

It appears the first time around :29 or :30. It's not that loud, sounds to me like a keyboard piano hit and filtered through some echo device, fades out rather quickly.

I want to make that sound, and perhaps I'm going about it wrong but I've mostly been messing with ARP to get it. I would like more control over the fade out though. ARP has the nice strike & repeating and I can control the sound tone and rate and length, I just can't make it fade out as I'd like (get quieter with each repetition).

Ok not sure how much sense that makes but anyway, thanks for the response as always.

As I try it, I should go for the Arpeggiator Echo set to a Rate of 123 and a Amount of 90 (the right numbers of attacks) and alsouse the Morph controlled by the Wheel to turn down the Volune by hand. The riff is long enough Smile

Thanks for your help as always. We ended up going with my initial suggestion, which was a studio delay...

Thank you again for this.

For what it's worth, we are not playing the ELO song but our own song ripping off the effect, but we'll be doing it live now, and I took your advice and looked up how to assign the morph wheel to fade the echo out by hand and it works pretty decent.

THANK YOU!

This forum is invaluable!
