Nord Lead 1 Subject description: Poly problems? |
 |
|
Hello Everyone
I have just purchased my first synthesizer (Nord Lead 1) and there seems to be a problem with the polyphony.
Even though I am new to this, I am aware that in mono and legato on a simple factory program, it is monophonic, unison you can play 2 keys and poly you can play 4.
I have tried loads of different programs but I am not getting 2 full notes in unison and I can't play a full 3 or 4 fingered chords in poly properly. (seems almost like 2 and a half)
I am sure when I got it a few days ago this all was working. The only thing I did, when I first got it, was resetting the original 40 RAM programs.
I hope I am going insane, as this thing sounds great, otherwise Please Help!
Thanks

Are you using a Keyboard version or a Rack? When the Midi channels aren't set right more then one Slot can react to the Midi using up the voices. Otherwise...
Open the synth by unscrewing all large screws and check all cables by opening the connectors and replacing them. Don't worry about the warranty But I should check the Midi first.

Thanks for getting back Wout
My Nord is the Keyboard and has not been expanded.
Sometimes it's a relief to be stupid. I did have it connected to a USB midi interface and everything is totally fine now I've disconnected.
Thankyou for taking the time to answer, is greatly appreciated!

Well, if the USB interface has a Midi Through mode, use this some times, because there is some latency and other Slots will react to, only with some delay, almost nothing, but it is a nice effect (also looses voices, though...)
