hey everyone,
I have a nord lead 2x and I love it, but I've come across an obstacle: I've been working on some droney atmospheric stuff where I want to be able to make a note or chord sustain indefinitely while I manipulate the sound. however, even with the sustain + release all the way up, the volume does eventually fade out after a couple of minutes. why is this? am I overlooking something or is there really no way to keep the signal going forever?

welcome davidno

There is a very simple solution, which only needs the AmpSustain. Use the 'Hold' function! Activate the Arpeggiator by pressing [ARP] in LFO2. Then press [Shift+ARP] (Led starts to blink) and you are in Hold mode. If the Arpeggiator start to run, just turn the Arp Range knob to zero (anti-clock-wise) Play any note or chord and release the keys: it will sound as long as you are paying your electricity bill Wink

Every new hit on the keyboard triggers a new Hold notes input, so you are able to change the notes after a while.

Some draw backs (everything has its positive and negative sides...):
* you can't use LFO2 anymore because it's in Arp mode;
* it works as a global feature, so in a Layer or Performance you have to take care all used Slots are set to Hold and
* you can't use a Program Change, because this stops the Hold function.
(This can be solved by using a new Program with the Arp saved as active and not using the 'internal memory' but by sending a SysEx data from a computer to the 'buffer memory', which only changes the parameters.

Wout

And when this won't work (it will work Smile) use the Mini Moog Methode: folded pieces of paper between the keys! Very Happy
