Memory Card & Nord Generator Question |
 |
|
Hi there again. I pretty like my "Nord" experience that is happening since i have it, but some things i do not get, so i ask very specific to get a clear answer. I searched, but i did not get the whole info.
I know it is not possible to save performances or more than 40 patches. So the solution seems to be a sucky 50 Euro battery driven card that can get empty. Ok... if there is no other way, i will have to stick to it.
But i came to the Nord Generator. I do not know if i got the idea right. Is it like i can save up for example the first 4 programms (1-4), then use them in a performance (what i cannot save without card) and then send it via MIDI to Nord Generator, and then back again to the Nord Lead where it is then even saved as a performance???
This could then only work for the programms 1 - 40 ... after no. 40 the manual says it is not possible to save the programms, am i right???
So i can send programms and performances... or better said, i can send 99 programms via Nord Gen to my HD and then back again to the 99 slots in the Nord Lead 2 where i can also use them in the performances of my choice???
Or i will need that shitty card for fifty euro????
Many thanks for even reading my thread. |

Hi,
First things first...
In many of my talks with the Clavia designers I asked them to develope the Nord Sound Manager further, but they always answered me I am the only one who wants that, so...
To save the data in your synth and use them again by uploading...
The PCMCIA-cards is the first option, although Clavia designed the Synth-Computer combination first. Any software sequencer is able to record and play back the SysEx data. Saving on a computer is a must when exchanging data on the Internet.
Another option is using NordGen, although it can't do Performances and it has a nasty design 'bug', which gives headaches after some time working with the tool.
I'm sure most NL2X users will be needing such a library tool too. Surely one wants to change the memory according the gig which is coming up...
What can you do?
Two things
Read the sticky thread in the beginning of this forum and
start a thread in which you ask Clavia to develop a library tool!
I'll support, but I'm afraid we will be very lonesome there...
