again, for some reason I like the resonance knob. I like added a waveshaping 3bit (8 levels) transformation after the filter in the G2 which is affected by the resonance level, the high level idea is from the waldorf2/xt waveshaper filter. It is a starting point.

I will work on it more, cuz I know I need at least 5 bits not only 4 (1 16 value sequencer used as waveshape) which make things too chunky. And to have some other wavetables scanned using a mux. and scanning with multiple muxs using the same sequencers as wavetables means less cpu.

I love the G2 DSP CPU. The power they and the Clavia programmers can produce, is so sweet.

enjoy.

Very interesting idea,
To make it a bit more musical, it should sound a bit more fluid. But I guess that is what you mean with bits?
I'm a musisian not a math guy Confused

what are you thinking, more fluid? I know I would be putting the waveshaped stuff through a bandpass filter and more eq but i don't know when I will put more energy into this one.

I also hate math, that is why I like the simple interface of the nord.

by bits I mean how many steps are used to transform the output of the filter (if you use 1 sequencer you get 16 steps or 4 bits, if you use 2 or 32 steps then you have 5).

As I had never tried to use two or more of them before to make a more complex shaper, just knocked this up:

PATCH:
Two ctr seqs used to shape a couple of osc's.
Var 1 basic, Var 2 + 3 are a couple of ideas on the theme with lots of effex.

So would you best using a muxer for when using several more CTR SEQs?

Hey Ross,

of course i can crossfade between 2 different wavetables, but I thought to use more than 3 or 4 to simulate a wavetable in a waldorf ...

ideas to improve the original patch

another idea is to band reject the cutoff where the built in resonance is used and to supplement (with a bandpass) it with the waveshaped processing once resonance is cranked and the waveshaped stuff is up
