Hi Guys,

I am having problems setting up an Aggregate Device containing a Motu 828mkii and a Fireface 800.

It seems to me like the clock drifts after a period of time, I have tried clocking from the motu and also from the fireface.

Should this work?

Also what is the Resample option?

Or is the best way to connect clock one from the other using hardware and if so how do you turn off the clock option on the aggregate device?

Any help would as usual be very appreciated.

Cheers

Andy

Just guessing, as I was playing with an aggregate device last weekend. The hardware setup on the MOTU (should be a panel in audio/midi setup) might give you clocking options, likewise there is probably a setup somewhere on the Fireface too. It does sound like your clocks are not synchronized.

You Genius Smile

The motu has the ability to clock from firewire and it looks like core audio sends a clock signal via the firewire if I set the Fireface as the clock source.

Thanks for this.

Supposed to do sample rate conversion if the devices are running at different rates.

I would say, avoid if possible. I had Resample turned on for awhile and wondered why I got horrid clicking and distortion on the aggregate device (when my MOTU by itself sounded fine). Turning off Resample cured that one immediately.
