My VCOs are build using a FREQ+Fine pots and I was wondering whether I will get a more stable tuning via a high quality single muti turn pot, like a spectrol or similar.

Has anyone tried it?

I have tried 10-turn pots but not for my CGS. I might try this again when I have more VCOs.

My opinion is that 10-turn pots are great for VCOs where a certain setting is needed for deep modulation, but not if it needs to be changed a lot while playing. Also, 10-turn pots are ususally wirewound, which I think have a weird feel to them - they offer a range of control, but transition is not so smooth as other kinds.

I've used a few multi-turns as tune-pots on CGS VCOs, can't say if they improve stability. saves panel space....
i get my multi-turns for free so use them, probably wouldn't be worth it if you are paying full price for them.
