Hi Guys!

We finally got around to testing the new upgrade, Cubase 5, we've written up a review and included some sound samples.

So far, the upgrade seems to be more stable than C4, but I'm curious to hear what are your experiences- if anyone here managed to upgrade yet...

Anyway, enjoy!

my feeling having used c5 on some top pro daw systems is that its stable until you start trying to use to many of other peoples products and then it fails relative to these.

If you use c5 with nothing but the built in fx its very stable or as stable as you will get but add more and more third party fx and synths etc and it then becomes very unstable or unpredictable.

Certain plugs clash with others , cause system locks , freezes and stuff.

I personally just dont think the daw vision is viable , the idea you can have say 30 different companies bits of code all working in tandem and all fighting for dps and stability is wrong , it will never happen.

Cubase 5 is a great multitrack audio recorder.Add uad cards and its still very stable , add to many plugs and try doing to much or audio / midi '/ fx / synth work . sampling all at once and even the best spec daw will freeze on a regular basis , its the nature of this game.

Maybe 6 is better but i just feel the whole daw game is flakey and trying to square the circle or vice versa.

Never had a problem, run large projects with multiple plug-ins, usually around 5-10 VST's and 3 or 4 effects plug-ins (EQ, Compressor, etc) on every track (typical 25-40 tracks) without problems.
Try upgrading your computer or using a legit copy. Cuabse is the best DAW on the market.. they invented the vst platform afterall..
Cubase 7 is the nuts.. btw..
