Casio PT-7 Subject description: Looking for schematic |
 |
|
Anyone by chance have a schematic or service manual for a Casio PT-7?
I have one, and I'd like to see about using the percussion section to drive other toys.
I've lokked over the usual sites...Tablehooters etc.
Thanks,
Dan |

PT-7 ? That's one of the pt-10 / vl-1 line of casio's, right?
Try googling 'circuit bending pt-10' and you'll find GETLOFI's guide to modding the pt-10.....
So you want to use the pt-7's drums as TRIGGERs to drive another machine?
Well you're in luck, 'cus I've done something similar with my latest vl-1, and it IS possible!
I think all the vl-1 / pt-10 product line use the same big flat chip 'NEC D1867G'............
On the vl-1 it lives just underneath the LCD screen, and there are 4 pins which are un-connected at the bottom of the chip..... These pins are your drum triggers, you can connect an LED to them and it'll flash when each individual drum sounds.
It's a + pulse, but not sure of the voltage as I haven't measured it.
So - you can solder a transistor over a switch contacts (on a button / key or drum pad) and use the TRIGGER pulse to CLOSE the transistor (thus connecting the switch). Or sometimes you can feed the trigger pulse straight into the machine.
Hope that helps...... |
