Virtual instrument composition. Specifically 3D environments

Hi there,

Does anyone know of any projects (either ongoing or dead) involving interaction with a 3D virtual environment on a computer involving user participation in order create sound.

For example I wave my magic Wii wand and the computer moves an object in 3D, playing different sounds depending on my actions.

2D examples would also be welcome.

Don't know of any but i think there ought to be. I believe there is huge potential for using in music apps the kinds of graphics and interactivity routinely used in games.
