Electro 2 73 keys.
Bought this for my son a couple months ago. He uses it on stage but pretty much always mono. Now we hooked it up to record on a mixer. and we find very low output out of the left output jack. The right is plenty loud. The headphone jack has balanced L/R. We confirmed the problem through the stereo and another PA running 2 channels. Since the headphone jack seems to be good and loud both channels, and has stereo on the organ, that preamp would seem to be fine... does this unit have a separate preamp built in for the output jacks?

Software 3.0 (came loaded on unit from used dealer). Everything else works fine, no glitches.

Have not attempted any software re-load, do not have MIDI jack on computer, have not researched anything outside of extensive study of the owners manual.

Hope someone tells me I am ignorant and shows me how to fix it. I suspect it is actually broken...

Thanks in advance

welcome rkpotts

I been thinking and searching, but I come to the conclusion or the output is broken or, and this happens to me a lot of times, you inserted the left line in the headphone connector and the right one into output L.

Wout

BTW I will move this thread into the NordStage forum very soon...

thanks for the reply. No, the left channel is not plugged into the headphone jack. And that jack will even provide audio at a moderate level when hooked to the mixer/PA. It will provide single channel on a mono plug or stereo on a stereo plug. But not nearly as loud as the left channel.

Thanks for moving the thread, as a newbie I did not find the right spot to post. I saw someone else had posted an Electro problem here, so here is where I started.

Can you answer as to whether there are independent preamps for the L/R output jacks as opposed to the headphones? I own a electronics service center. If a jack is the suspect my techs can handle it. But we normally do not work on pro audio, so if there is a suspect amplifier/preamp/circuit issue, I will take it to the authorized facility, although their timeframe is hideous.

Um... ooops.... did not review before I submitted, sorry.

I actually put Electron in the subject...

And to clarify: Right channel (designated mono channel) loud, just fine
Left channel very low but audible, sounds like 10% of right
Headphone jack works mono or stereo, about 25% at line level, which would be appropriate as we need to protect our ears!

OK, that is all the mistakes I made in my last post, thanks.

So I changed it, but don't let it happen again. The next time you have to wash my dishes as a punishment Wink

PS By moving it to this thread more Electro 2 users will read this...

I believe it's broken.
Write to Clavia how to obtain a replacement board and the costs.
Better to us http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?tm=Support&clsm=Feedback otherwise your mail will be delivered at the distributors desk rather than in Sweden...
I think they will have some still.

Wout
