Just wanted to turn folks on to a great CD I just got in the mail...

Pond is a collaborative CD release of organized sound between Tod Dockstader, legendary wizard of analog tape & oscillator (although here he takes the plunge into digital), and David Myers, Godfather of feedback music. Various field recordings of pond critters are processed, chopped, looped and otherwise transformed along with timbrally similar digital emissions into fascinating and strangely addictive panoramas ranging from alien pastorals to shades of Poeme Electronique. The individual styles of both artists are well in evidence to those familiar with their work, yet neither overshadows the organic fusion of the individual pieces or the concept as a whole. Very abstract but to my ears not at all strident - even the cats love it. If you like the engagingly unusual - def get this. ReR USA.

Btw, David has also re-released his Engines of Myth lp tracks on CD which comprises his original 'inputless' feedback machine musics including his classic Lathe.
