saving sounds in nord lead 2x rack |
 |
|
Hi, I am thinking about buying a nord lead 2x rack, I already read the whole manual but I have a few questions about saving the sounds that I want to be clear before buying the synth. If anyone can help me I will be more than grateful.
1. If I understood everything good, every time you tweak the knobs if I like the results and I press store, the original sound would be replace by the one you press store? I cannot save the sound with a different number? It will be name exactly the same number it had before tweaking and pressing store?
2. If I have I sound that I already modify but one day of hardcore tweaking I found something I like as well, I cannot save the new parameters without deleting the old one?
3. By using the nordgen I can name sounds with letters and have a library of sounds with the names I want? Can I call a sound from the nordgen so I don’t have to look for hours into the rack?
Basically I want to know if the nordgen is the solution for questions 1,2? And how good it works
I use pc and cubase sx 3
Thanks a lot |

Using the Up&Down arrows you can scroll to any memory location you want and press [Store] the second time.
If you want to interrupt the process press any Slot button. I use complete Banks uploaded into the computer using CuBase in Midi format (SysEx) I can upload it into the synth in one go using the sequencer.
I also use NordGen loaded with the complete Midi Bank and select the Programs (sound) using the Up&Down arrows of the computer and upload these one by one by the enter command. The Program is just uploaded in the Buffer memory of the synth, so no archive memory will be destroyed.
Best to make a list of 99 Programs in one Bank where you can write down the name and all important things of the single Programs.
Using Performances you can only use CuBase or other software sequencers.
These are much more complicated, so a good notation and description of the Performance is very and very important! Quote: | Basically I want to know if the nordgen is the solution for questions 1,2? And how good it works … | It works
