Hello.
Dave Smith Instruments support have listened to samples from my Mono Evolver Key and says it's ok. But I'm not sure. I have made a comparsion with my Evolver Desktop and there's a significant difference in noise level. It's a tone modulated noise only present on the analog oscillators. See below for links to audio samples and spectrograms. You can easily hear (headphones recommended) the noise on the second note from my Evolver Key and it's clearly visible on the spectrogram too.

I'd be really interested in hearing samples from other Evolver Key owners to hear if the noise problem is present there too. If your Evolver Keys are alright mine is surely broken and I'll order a boardswap.

So if you are interested in recording five notes from your Evolver Key for me below is described how I did it and a link to a sysex file (single program) with the sound I used. Please reply via e-mail through my profile here or publish a link in this thread.

I have a standard Mono Evolver Key with OS 1.5. According to DSI there's no difference with OS 2.0 unless I have done a pot upgrade so OS is up to date.

any help is appreciated!

HOW I RECORDED MY EVOLVER
I used a neutral test sound with only the analog oscillators (the problem is only present there) and played five A's. Beginning with the lowest A on the keyboard with transpose at -1, then played four A's up.

Evolver Sysex (single program) for my neutral test sound is here:
