Nord Lead 2X- How do I acquire Prophet 5 sounds? Subject description: Making my Nord Lead 2X sound like a prophet 5 |
 |
|
I just bought off ebay a Nord Lead 2X keyboard. I was told that thaere are sounds already in the synth that sounds like a Priphet 5. Is this true? Will the P5 sounds on Clavia's website work in my Nord? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Anything from the sample library on the Clavia website won't work on the 2x because the 2x doesn't have sample memory like the Nord Electro or Wave.
As for getting prophet like sounds you could get some prophet like sounds but it wouldn't be prophet sounds. Spend some time programming your own patches. If you want to get close to something just use your ear, I'm sure you can get close to what you want. The 2x has an amazing sound of its own. Hope I helped, good luck with your synthesizing. |

In the [Manual page 101] there is a description of 40 locations in the Performance mode which are exact copies of 40 famous and infamous Prophet V sounds.
Who ever owned or still owns a Prophet V surely noyicfed there are some significant simularities between the SC synth and the NordLead. It is a favorite of Clavia, like de DX7 of Yamaha.

Prophet 5 Sounds for the Nord Lead 2X |
 |
|
Thanks for the help! I haven't received it from ebay yet so hopefully soon. I noticed there was only like 45 sounds of the original P5 in the 2X. Were the other sounds too hard to emulate or were they not worth the trouble? Are they available anywhere else? I was hoping this would "substitute" for buying a P5. I own a Jupiter 4, Jup 6, Juno 60 & an Oberheim OB8. I own many older "analog" rack modules also so I was hoping not to add another older synth to the mix. Please let me know. Thanks again. |

He!
It was 16 years ago
Probably it was due to less memory space!
And... You have to do something too!
