Thanks in advance for any advice you're kind enough to give. I have a Sherman and usually just use it through a keyboard amp. I'd love to use it as a guitar effect with a tube amp but worry a bit about there being some potential problems. Mostly using it as a low pass filter with high resonance. I wondered if you could get pitches lower than what's healthy for guitar amps.

The manual even warns about getting frequencies that are too low for speakers, yet I've seen guys on youtube playing through guitar amps with great results. My guess is I'd be ok if I were careful, but I'd really rather get some opinions before plugging it in and hoping for the best.

Thanks again.

Hi, why don't you stick the output of the Sherman through a reamp box and then into the amp.

Nice and safe.

Huh, never used a reamp box. I'll have to read up on them a bit. Any recommendations as far as a brand? Thanks!

Re-amping is great, but it is hardly a substitute for level and bandwidth management. It is quite correct that a Sherman filterbank ( and similar devices ) can easily output unhealthy levels and frequencies.
I´d suggest experimenting with a multiband compressor/limiter on the Sherman output before the re-amp unit. An adjustable lo-cut is smart too.
i also suggest that you look into thickening the signal that goes into the Sherman. You might find that it is more interesting to send a tube distorted signal into the Sherman than sending the signal from the Sherman into a tube guitar amp.
