Hello !

I'm kinda lost between the Nord Lead 2x and the 3...

I'm into industrial rock music.

And I heard bands like Nine Inch Nails or KMFDM used to play on 2x.

On the Lead 3, users are people like Jean-Michel Jarre, Kean, Faint, or Pet Shop Boys. (I only know Jarre and Pet Shop Boys, I'm not a big fan)

But is it a good idea to choose a synth with people who used it ? (And is the list true anyway ?)

These two synths are a lot different ? I heard demos (on Youtube -_-'), and I found them close sounding ! I tried a 2x Rack in a shop too, and I was kinda happy, but it lacked of something...

So I don't know wich one to choose... 2x seems to sound harsher, more like the bands I said (At least that's what people often says). 3 is more powerful (And close to a Modular G2 I believe ?), inspiring/easy to tweak but is it really different from the 2x anyway ?

What do you think ?
I searched informations over the web but still can't get a decision...

Thank you so much Wink

welcome Jessycd

The most important difference is the NL2X you can buy new in the shop and the NL3 is only on the second hand market...

Not really Very Happy
First is to try and find a NL3...
Otherwise there is no choice!

I had this same dilemma not long ago. I was looking for a nasty sounding synth as I produce darker sounding psytrance. From all the reviews I had, 2 or 2x was the way to go. Apparently 2 is grittier than 2x but 2x is the only one I could get new. Not sure if this helps at all but I just bought the 2x and it is great, so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fuckin awesome, gritty and dam tasty leads Twisted Evil

edit: nord 3 was not reccomended to me by darker sounding users
