Subject description: current source - does it *need* to reset?

I am going to piece together some kind of "programmer" this year. I like the way CGS59 works. But one feature I was hoping to hold out for was the possibility of having multiple stages active at the same time. This is one of the things I like about sequencers based on ring stages, such as the Paia 4780 and EML 400.

Not understanding much of the electronics going on here, it seems that this current source is fundamental to how the circuit works. Does more current mean that a second stage can run also? Or that the sequencer would just stop?

Is this kind of behavior doable by modifying the CGS59 sequencer, or will I need to try another approach entirely?

i believe its the relative, rather than absolute, amt of current that selects a stage... whichever gets more (as a result of getting triggered) "wins", and there's only one winner at a time. so i don't think this design would support multiple stages being active at the same time.

You present a much more articulate way of explaining what i was wondering about. Thank you for the clarification!
